Egyptian or Turkish uPVC? What you should actually be comparing

It is a common question, but framed in a way that cannot produce a useful answer. There is no single "Turkish profile" and no single "Egyptian profile" — there are different manufacturers in each country with different specifications. The useful comparison is on items you can read in a document, not on origin.

Five items to ask for in writing

• The standard the profile is manufactured to, and the measured performance data (Uw, Rw, air and wind classification).
• The profile wall thickness — a measurable item, not a verbal claim. In Premier's catalogue, for example, SETI 60 is 2.2 mm and SETI 100 is 2 mm.
• Reinforcement: the presence and section of the steel bar for each structural profile — not "as needed".
• Valid certificates with their numbers and expiry dates — not logos printed on a brochure.
• Spare parts and after-sales: who supplies a handle or a hinge in five years, and how long does it take?

Where local manufacturing genuinely differs

The genuine advantage of local manufacturing is not the material but the supply loop: production close to site means shorter lead times, spare parts from the same source, and one party accountable for profile, fabrication and installation instead of the responsibility being split between an importer and an agent.
